Bahraich district marked the 10th Armed Forces Veterans Day with a heartfelt ceremony on Wednesday. The District Soldiers' Welfare and Rehabilitation Office hosted the event to honor the families of military personnel.

District Magistrate Leads Tributes

District magistrate Akshay Tripathi presided over the gathering. He expressed deep gratitude to all attendees for their sacrifices.

Tripathi highlighted the unwavering commitment of soldiers and their families. He stated that India's progress relies on their dedication to protecting national borders.

Recognition for Grievances

The DM assured priority resolution for issues faced by soldiers and their kin. He emphasized the administration's support for military families.

Honoring the Brave

The event felicitated numerous individuals connected to the armed forces. Participants included Veer Naris, gallantry medal awardees, and ex-servicemen.

Wives of deceased ex-servicemen also joined the ceremony. Their presence underscored the enduring legacy of service.

Notable Honorees

Specific recognition went to several distinguished families. The son of Brigadier TP Shukla, a Vishisht Seva Medal recipient, received honors.

Angrej Singh's family, martyred in the Indo-China War, was acknowledged. A widow of a Second World War soldier and three non-pensioner ex-servicemen were also feted.

Fifty additional ex-servicemen received honors during the event. Their contributions were celebrated by the district administration.

Remembering Sacrifice

Retired Colonel Mahesh Chandra Dhyani, the District Soldiers' Welfare and Rehabilitation Officer, spoke at the event. He recalled the patriotism of late Agniveer Dilip Kumar Nishad.

Dhyani emphasized Nishad's sense of duty and integrity. A condolence letter from the Chief of Army Staff was handed to the martyr's brother, Vinod Nishad.

Event Coordination

Senior assistant Bhanu Pratap Gupta helped organize the successful ceremony. Narendra Kumar and Jagdamba Prasad from the office also played key roles.
