An anxious user highlighted the issue on social media, posting, "Reservation office at Banashankari BDA Complex, Bengaluru, closed for 5-6 days. No update on resumption. BSNL Optical Fibre Cable Cut Blamed for Prolonged Shutdown

According to officials from the South Western Railway (SWR), the root cause of the shutdown is a severed optical fibre cable belonging to BSNL within the complex, which has disrupted the network link essential for ticket reservations. "Reservation counters at Banashankari BDA complex are not working since the BSNL link is down as the optical fibre cable has been cut. Restoration efforts are currently underway," clarified an SWR representative. Maintenance teams have been actively working on-site since Tuesday, but as of Wednesday evening, the issue remained unresolved, leaving passengers without a clear timeline for resumption.

Alternative Arrangements and Expected Resolution

In response to the ongoing disruption, SWR has advised affected passengers to utilize the reservation office at Jayanagar as an alternative. The railway authority anticipates that the Banashankari counters will be fully functional by Friday, pending successful restoration of the BSNL network. BSNL has assured the public of its commitment to resolving the issue promptly, stating, "We are actively working to resolve this problem and will keep you updated with any progress and improvements."
