Danapur Division Celebrates Women's Day with Employee Felicitation
The Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) marked International Women's Day with a special ceremony in Khagaul on Friday, honoring 67 women employees for their outstanding contributions to railway operations and developmental projects. The event highlighted the growing role of women in the railways and their impact on service improvement and infrastructure development.
Recognition for Dedication and Professionalism
During the function, divisional railway manager (DRM) Vinod Kumar addressed the gathering, praising the dedication, hard work, and professionalism of the women staff across various departments. He emphasized their crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of railway operations within the division.
Senior divisional commercial manager (DCM) Abhinav Siddarth noted that the awardees represented diverse wings, including operations, commercial, engineering, medical, and administrative sectors. He stated, "These women have played a significant role in supporting the division's development activities, and their contributions are vital for enhancing services and infrastructure."
Encouraging Greater Participation in Technical Fields
Siddarth also highlighted the steady increase in the participation of women employees in the railways and encouraged more women to take up responsibilities in technical and operational fields. This move aims to foster gender diversity and leverage women's skills for better railway management and innovation.
Infrastructure Inspection and Upgrades
In related news, Danapur additional divisional railway manager (ADRM) Rajiv Kumar conducted an inspection of the Patna–Mokama rail section on Friday. He reviewed track conditions, passenger amenities, and ongoing infrastructure works along the route. The ADRM also inspected the construction of a new parallel rail bridge near the Rajendrapul rail bridge at Mokama.
Sources indicated that the new parallel bridge is expected to improve rail connectivity and enhance operational efficiency on this busy route. Regular inspections and infrastructure upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen railway services and ensure safe and efficient operations across the Danapur division.
Temporary Stoppage for Navratri Mela
Separately, the railways have granted a temporary five-minute stoppage to several passenger trains at Maihar station in Madhya Pradesh for the Navratri Mela. This arrangement, effective from March 18 to March 30, includes trains such as the Valsad–Muzaffarpur Express, Kolhapur–Dhanbad Express, Raxaul–Lokmanya Tilak Express, Purna–Patna Junction Express, and Patna–Bandra Terminal Express.
The Danapur division's initiatives reflect a broader commitment to recognizing employee contributions and improving railway infrastructure, with a focus on inclusivity and operational excellence.
