Iran's foreign minister on Friday declared that Tehran's position on the country's stockpile of highly enriched uranium remains unchanged, emphasizing that the only way to manage it is to dilute it within the country. Abbas Araghchi made the comment during an interview with state television, in which he also revealed that Iran and the United States are working toward signing an initial agreement that could lead to an end to the ongoing war.
Details of the Proposed Agreement
According to Araghchi, terms related to Iran's nuclear program would be finalized within 60 days after an initial agreement is reached. He stressed that the uranium stockpile issue must be resolved domestically, rejecting any external interference.
Strait of Hormuz and Toll System
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the minister stated that Iran wants a deal allowing Tehran to charge transiting ships 'for services rendered.' Iran imposed a toll system during the war, which the United States and other nations claim violates international law. Araghchi defended the measure as a legitimate right of Iran.
The declaration comes amid heightened tensions between Iran, Israel, and the US, with the international community closely monitoring developments in the region.
