Central Railway Announces Summer Special Trains Between Mumbai and Tuticorin
In a significant announcement for summer travelers, Central Railway has revealed plans to operate express special train services between Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST) and Tuticorin during the upcoming summer season. This initiative aims to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the peak travel period.
Detailed Schedule and Service Information
The special train services will operate in both directions with seven trips scheduled from each originating station. From Mumbai CST, departures are set for Tuesdays at 12:30 AM, beginning on April 21 and continuing through June 2, 2024. These trains will complete their journey to Tuticorin by 11:30 AM the following day.
Conversely, from Tuticorin, services will depart on Wednesdays at 3:30 PM, starting from April 22 and running until June 3, 2024. These trains are scheduled to arrive at Mumbai CST at 6:00 AM on Fridays, providing convenient weekend connectivity for passengers.

The express special trains will feature a well-equipped configuration to ensure passenger comfort across various travel classes. The complete coach breakdown includes:
- One AC Two Tier coach for premium travelers
- Six AC Three Tier coaches offering mid-range air-conditioned accommodation
- Nine Sleeper coaches for budget-conscious passengers
