North Central Railway Unveils Comprehensive Holi Travel Plan with 204 Special Train Trips

The North Central Railway (NCR) has meticulously crafted an extensive operational strategy to guarantee seamless and efficient travel across its major rail corridors during the upcoming Holi festival. In a significant move to accommodate the heightened festive demand, the railway zone has officially notified a total of 204 trips by special trains that will operate throughout the NCR network, linking crucial destinations nationwide.

Key Operational Details and Route Selection

Under its primary jurisdiction, NCR will operate five pairs of special trains, which account for 36 of these trips. These services are strategically designed to originate from key stations within the NCR region, facilitating convenient travel to major hubs such as Mumbai, Pune, and various parts of southern India. The special trains will adhere to their respective timetables, running from February 15 to March 31, thereby covering the entire peak travel period surrounding Holi.

The originating festival special trains include:

  • Prayagraj–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus
  • Subedarganj–Charlapalli
  • VGL Jhansi–Pune
  • VGL Jhansi–Hadapsar
  • Kanpur Central–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus

These routes have been carefully selected based on an analysis of high seasonal demand from passengers traveling to the western and southern regions of the country. Overall, the 204 notified trips will traverse the extensive NCR network, ensuring robust connectivity and reduced congestion during the festive rush.

To streamline the booking process, tickets for the Holi festival special trains are readily available through the IRCTC platform.
