Faridabad Hotel Stabbing: Technician Killed After Confronting Stalker, Main Accused Arrested

A shocking incident of violence unfolded at a hotel in Faridabad, resulting in the tragic death of a young man. The victim, identified as Sachin Mehra, a 25-year-old technician working at a hospital, was allegedly stabbed to death by three men outside the Red Lion Hotel on Mathura Road.

Details of the Fatal Night

The attack occurred during the intervening night of April 9-10, near the Badarpur border area. According to police reports, the altercation began when the main accused, Sunny, a resident of Badoli in Palwal who currently lives in Faridabad, arrived at the hotel searching for a woman he had been stalking.

"Sunny had been pursuing this woman with marriage proposals, but she had consistently rejected his advances," explained a police officer familiar with the case. "Despite her clear refusal, he continued to stalk her and eventually tracked her to this hotel."

Escalation of Violence

When hotel staff refused to share any guest information with Sunny and asked him to leave the premises, the situation quickly deteriorated. Angered by this rejection, Sunny called two friends to the location to threaten the hotel employees.

The trio engaged in a heated argument with the hotel manager that turned violent. At this critical moment, Sachin Mehra—who was a friend of the manager and frequently visited the hotel—intervened to protect the staff members.

"Mehra attempted to drive the attackers away by hitting Sunny with a stick, but this defensive action provoked a deadly response," the officer stated. In retaliation, all three men allegedly attacked Mehra with a knife, stabbing him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Aftermath and Police Response

The severely injured Mehra was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his wounds during treatment. Following the incident, Mehra's father, Mohan Singh, filed a formal complaint at the Sarai Khwaja police station, leading to a murder case being registered against the three attackers.

The investigation was subsequently transferred to the crime branch DLF unit, which has made significant progress. Varun Kumar Dahiya, ACP (crime-II), confirmed that the main accused, Sunny, has been arrested while police continue searching for his two accomplices.

"The arrested accused will be presented before the court on Saturday, and we will be seeking police remand for further interrogation," ACP Dahiya stated, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Broader Implications

This tragic incident highlights several concerning social issues:

  • The dangers of stalking and harassment escalating into violent confrontations
  • The vulnerability of hospitality workers facing aggressive customers
  • The tragic consequences when bystanders intervene in dangerous situations
  • The challenges police face in apprehending multiple suspects in violent crimes

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information about the two remaining suspects to come forward. The case serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly disputes can turn deadly and the importance of proper conflict resolution mechanisms in public spaces.
