A tragic incident occurred in a school hostel in Jharkhand where a venomous snake bit four girl students, resulting in the death of one. The incident took place in the early hours of July 9, 2026, at a government-run residential school in the state.
Snake Enters Hostel Room
According to a school representative, a 'krait' snake entered the room while seven girl students were sleeping. The snake bit one of the students, who screamed in pain, waking the others. In the ensuing panic, three more students were bitten.
The school authorities were alerted immediately, and the injured students were rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, one student succumbed to the venom. The other three are reported to be in stable condition and are receiving treatment.
