New Daily Passenger Train Service Connects Patna to Thawe Temple Town

Indian Railways has announced the launch of a new daily passenger train service between Patna Junction and Thawe, establishing a direct rail link between the state capital of Bihar and the renowned temple town. This initiative aims to improve regional connectivity and facilitate travel for passengers across northwestern parts of the state.

Train Schedule and Operational Details

According to Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the East Central Railway (ECR), the new passenger train, numbered 55515/55516, will commence operations from Sunday. The train will depart from Patna Junction at 12:10 PM and is scheduled to arrive at Thawe around 7:00 PM, covering the journey in approximately seven hours.

On its return journey, the train will leave Thawe at 8:05 PM and reach Patna Junction around 3:20 AM the following day. The service features a load composition of 24 coaches, ensuring ample capacity for daily commuters and travelers.

Route and Stoppages for Enhanced Accessibility

The train will make scheduled stoppages at several key locations en route to Thawe, including Phulwarisharif, Patliputra Junction, Dighabrige Halt, Dighwara, and Goldenganj. These stoppages are strategically selected to serve multiple communities and improve rail access across the region.

"While the new service will benefit passengers travelling between Patna and the northwestern parts of Bihar, it will also improve access to Thawe, which is known for the Thawe temple," stated the CPRO. This connectivity is expected to boost tourism and local economic activities, particularly around the religious site.

Railway Enforcement Drive for Safety and Discipline

In related developments, the Sonepur division of the ECR has intensified its enforcement drive to maintain safety and discipline on passenger trains. As part of a weeklong campaign conducted under the anti-crime programme, at least 45 individuals were arrested for illegal alarm chain pulling, a disruptive practice that can delay train services.

A total fine of Rs 8,600 has been collected from the offenders, with authorities emphasizing that such operations will continue to ensure the security and efficiency of rail travel. The CPRO highlighted that these measures are crucial for preventing misconduct and upholding the integrity of passenger train operations.

Impact on Regional Development and Travel

The introduction of this daily passenger train is poised to significantly enhance transportation options in Bihar, reducing travel time and providing a reliable link between urban and rural areas. By connecting Patna to Thawe, the service supports broader efforts to improve infrastructure and promote regional development, aligning with national initiatives for better rail connectivity.

This move reflects Indian Railways' ongoing commitment to expanding and modernizing its network to meet the growing demands of passengers, while also addressing safety concerns through proactive enforcement actions.
