National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval called on UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, engaging in discussions aimed at deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. The talks also covered recent developments in West Asia and their implications for regional and international security, as well as global energy security concerns.
Key Discussions
During the meeting, Doval conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and explored measures to strengthen bilateral ties. The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security.
In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in the UAE stated: "NSA Ajit Doval paid an official visit to the UAE. He called on President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan... Measures to deepen Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the regional situation, and other issues of mutual interest were discussed."
Exchange of Greetings
According to UAE state-run news agency WAM, Doval conveyed PM Modi's greetings, and the UAE President reciprocated with his greetings for the Indian leadership, wishing further development and prosperity for India and its people. This marks the second high-level visit from India to the UAE in recent times.
Earlier this month, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar called on the UAE President in Abu Dhabi and also conveyed PM Modi's greetings. Jaishankar highlighted the robustness of the India-UAE strategic partnership, noting that the ongoing dialogue between the two nations remains strong and transparent despite a complex regional environment.
