Patna Junction Introduces Modern Parking Facility to Enhance Passenger Experience

In a significant move to improve travel convenience, the Indian Railways has officially launched a new parking facility at Patna Junction on the Mahavir Mandir side. This state-of-the-art initiative, inaugurated on Tuesday, is designed to provide parking services that rival modern airport standards, ensuring a more organized and accessible space for passengers and commuters.

Updated Tariff Structure for Vehicles

According to Abhinav Siddarth, the senior divisional commercial manager (senior DCM) of Danapur, the revamped parking system introduces a new set of tariffs to regulate vehicle parking effectively. All vehicles can now be parked for up to 8 minutes for free within the circulating area of Patna Junction, offering a brief respite for quick drop-offs and pick-ups.

For longer stays, the railways has implemented detailed pricing for two-wheelers and four-wheelers:

  • Four-Wheelers: Rs 80 for two hours, Rs 200 for six hours, Rs 350 for 12 hours, Rs 400 for 24 hours, and Rs 500 per day for stays beyond 24 hours.

Enhanced Security and Operational Measures

To ensure safety and smooth operation, the railways has closed unauthorized entry points on the Mahavir Mandir side. This strategic move aims to improve monitoring and curb unauthorized access, contributing to a more secure environment. The entire parking area is now under constant surveillance with the installation of CCTV cameras, providing a well-regulated space for all parked vehicles.

This development reflects the railways' commitment to upgrading infrastructure and enhancing the overall travel experience at one of Bihar's busiest junctions.
