Leaders Update Profile Pictures

Earlier in the day, PM Modi and several senior leaders, including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, updated their official X profile pictures to commemorate the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor. The updated profile pictures prominently referenced the operation, signaling remembrance and its significance for India.

Details of the Operation

On May 7, 2025, the Indian armed forces conducted strikes on terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). During the operation, India destroyed nine major terror launchpads linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. The Indian forces killed over 100 terrorists in the operation.

Pakistan responded with drone attacks and shelling, leading to a four-day conflict between the two neighboring countries. India carried out retaliatory strikes and destroyed radar installations in Lahore and radar facilities near Gujranwala. Following heavy damage, Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) contacted the Indian DGMO, and both sides agreed to a ceasefire on May 10, ending the hostilities.
