PM Modi and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico exchanged greetings at Bratislava Castle, with Indian, Slovak, and EU flags as a backdrop. The warm welcome included a traditional offering of bread and salt, symbolizing hospitality and goodwill. Modi also paid tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, honoring fallen soldiers.
Strengthening Economic Partnerships
In a business interaction hosted by PM Fico, Modi engaged with Slovak business leaders to boost investment and cooperation in innovation, technology, and manufacturing. The talks aimed at creating new opportunities through stronger economic partnerships.
Cultural Exchanges and Recognition
Modi and Fico viewed paintings by Slovak children inspired by India's Panchatantra and Jataka tales, highlighting cultural connections. Modi also met Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, discussing cooperation in manufacturing, transport, energy, and digital technology. He was awarded the Order of the White Double Cross (1st Class), Slovakia's highest civilian honor, which he dedicated to India-Slovakia friendship.
A special yoga demonstration by Slovak schoolchildren, ahead of International Day of Yoga, underscored yoga's global appeal for health and harmony.
