Prayagraj Junction Introduces Temporary Parking and Entry Rules Amid Redevelopment

Railway authorities at Prayagraj Junction have implemented new parking, entry, and exit regulations for passengers, effective from Friday, due to ongoing redevelopment work on the city side of the station. These temporary measures will remain in force until further notice to ensure smoother operations during the construction phase.

Revised Shelter System for Key Facilities

Under the newly revised system, key passenger facilities have been relocated to designated shelters to optimize space and reduce congestion. The shelter-wise arrangements are as follows:

  • Shelter No 2: Designated for four-wheeler parking.
  • Shelter No 3: Allocated for two-wheeler parking along with the unreserved ticket counter.
  • Shelter No 4: Serves as the reserved ticket booking centre.

This reorganization aims to streamline passenger services and minimize disruptions caused by the redevelopment activities.

Changes in Entry and Exit Routes

Significant modifications have been made to the entry and exit routes at Prayagraj Junction to enhance traffic flow and safety. The gate-wise system includes:

  • Gates 1, 3, and 4: Exclusively for pedestrian entry and exit.
  • Gate No 2: Reserved for vehicles entering for parking purposes.
  • Gates 5 and 6: Implement a "drop and go" system to facilitate quick passenger drop-offs and reduce crowding.

Specifically, Gate No 6 is designated for entry under the drop and go system, while Gate No 5 serves as the exit point. This temporary setup is designed to manage limited space efficiently and improve overall movement within the station premises.

Authorities Emphasize Compliance for Smooth Operations

Divisional Public Relations Officer Amit Singh emphasized that the new plan has been carefully designed to handle the constraints of the construction phase. He stated, "The temporary arrangements are crucial for managing space effectively and ensuring passenger safety during the redevelopment work." Authorities have strongly advised passengers to strictly adhere to the new system to avoid confusion, delays, and potential disruptions.

The implementation of these rules is part of a broader effort to enhance infrastructure at Prayagraj Junction, with the goal of providing improved facilities once the redevelopment is complete. Passengers are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and stay informed about any further updates from railway officials.
