Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has reinforced India's tough stance against Pakistan, stating that New Delhi will not allow Indus River waters to reach the “patrons of terror.” Addressing an event in Hyderabad, Singh linked India's decision to keep the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and the Pahalgam terror attack.
The minister also defended Operation Sindoor, warning of consequences for future terror attacks, and highlighted India's expanding defence production, exports, and global influence. Rajnath further showcased the NDA government's achievements, including the abrogation of Article 370, infrastructure growth, and reforms across multiple sectors, while launching a sharp attack on the Congress party.
Singh emphasized that India's water resources would not be used to benefit those who support terrorism. He reiterated the government's commitment to national security and zero tolerance for cross-border terrorism. The Defence Minister also noted that India's defence exports have reached new heights, with domestic production increasing significantly under the Make in India initiative.
In his address, Singh criticized the previous Congress-led government for its handling of national security issues, accusing them of being soft on Pakistan. He credited the current NDA government with taking decisive actions, including the surgical strikes and the Balakot airstrike, which sent a strong message to Islamabad.
Singh also touched upon India's growing global influence, with several countries now seeking defence partnerships with New Delhi. He attributed this to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government's focus on self-reliance in defence production. The minister concluded by warning that any future terror attacks would invite a forceful response, reaffirming India's resolve to protect its sovereignty.
