Shimla Prepares for Vice President Radhakrishnan's Visit July 10

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap on Wednesday directed all officials to ensure necessary arrangements for Vice President CP Radhakrishnan's visit to Shimla on July 10, in accordance with established protocols and a time-bound action plan. The Vice President is scheduled to participate in an international seminar on Sardar Patel at the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS).

Detailed Preparations Reviewed

Kashyap chaired a meeting regarding preparations for the visit and reviewed arrangements at the helicopter landing site. He instructed officials to ensure safe landing and take-off, security at the helipad, barricading, cleanliness, communication systems, and coordination between agencies.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Health Department to ensure adequate medical facilities, including deployment of medical teams, ambulances, doctors, paramedical staff, life-saving medicines, equipment, and prompt medical assistance if needed. The Fire Department was directed to deploy firefighting vehicles, equipment, and trained personnel at the helipad, venue, and other important locations.

Security and Infrastructure Measures

Kashyap also reviewed security and law and order, traffic and parking management, route planning, VVIP movement, electricity and drinking water supply, sanitation, road inspection and repair by the Public Works Department, communication systems, disaster management, power backup, and protocol-related arrangements.

According to the Deputy Commissioner's office, all departments have been instructed to work in close coordination to ensure a smooth and secure visit. The administration aims to leave no aspect overlooked, from medical readiness to traffic management.
