Trump Promises 'Good and Proper' Iran Deal, Slams Obama Pact

US President Donald Trump has asserted that any agreement reached with Iran under his leadership would be a 'good and proper one,' in stark contrast to the nuclear deal negotiated during former President Barack Obama's administration. In a recent post on his Truth Social platform, Trump criticized the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal, claiming it provided Tehran with substantial funds and a clear path to nuclear weapons.

Trump Criticizes Obama-Era Iran Deal

Trump's remarks come amid ongoing international scrutiny of Iran's nuclear programme and heightened tensions in the Middle East. He stated, 'If I make a deal with Iran, it will be a good and proper one. It won't be like the one made by Obama, which gave Iran massive amounts of CASH, and a clear and open path to a Nuclear Weapon.' According to Trump, the proposed agreement would be the 'exact opposite' of the previous pact signed during the Obama administration.

Trump Dismisses Critics, Says Negotiations Continue

Trump also pushed back against criticism surrounding the potential deal, arguing that opponents were commenting on an agreement that 'nobody has seen' and that is 'not even fully negotiated yet.' He accused critics of speaking without understanding the ongoing discussions. 'Our deal is the exact opposite, but nobody has seen it, or knows what it is. It isn't even fully negotiated yet. So don't listen to the losers, who are critical about something they know nothing about.' Positioning himself against previous administrations, Trump added: 'Unlike those before me who should have solved this problem many years ago, I don't make bad deals!'

In a post shared earlier on May 24, Trump had also stressed the importance of patience during negotiations. 'Both sides must take their time and get it right. There can be no mistakes! Our relationship with Iran is becoming a much more professional and productive one.' The deal under discussion reportedly involves a 60-day ceasefire extension, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and a plan for further negotiations over Iran's nuclear programme.
