UK Issues Strict Travel Advisory Following Delhi Car Explosion
The United Kingdom has issued a significant travel advisory, warning its citizens against all travel to specific parts of India. This decisive action comes in the immediate aftermath of a devastating car explosion that shook the capital. Beyond the border regions, the advisory extends to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, covering popular destinations like Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, the city of Srinagar, and the Jammu-Srinagar national highway. The FCDO does, however, permit travel by air to and from Jammu city, as well as movement within the city itself.
Furthermore, the advisory maintains its existing stance on Manipur, recommending against all but essential travel to the state, including its capital, Imphal. The FCDO cited ongoing curfews, restrictions, and intermittent violence stemming from ethnic clashes that began in 2023.
