Earlier during his visit, Gor met with N Chandrasekaran, Chairperson of Tata Companies. He described this as a productive meeting with a conglomerate boasting an impressive 150-year legacy and significant presence in the United States.

Mumbai Visit Marks Renewed Efforts

On Friday, Ambassador Gor visited the US Consulate in Mumbai during his first trip to the city. He expressed excitement about kicking off his Mumbai visit at the Consulate, noting the dedicated team working hard to bolster the US-India partnership.

He described this visit as the start of renewed efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two democracies.

Formal Presentation of Credentials

Gor's Mumbai visit follows his formal presentation of credentials to President Droupadi Murmu earlier this week. The ceremony took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 14.

In his remarks, Gor expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and emphasized his commitment to carrying forward administration priorities. He highlighted strengthening partnership in security, trade, energy, and technology as key objectives.

Building a Defining Partnership

The Ambassador stated his belief that together, both nations will build a US-India partnership that will define the 21st century. He described serving in India at this time as an honor, given the promise and opportunity in the bilateral relationship.

Gor looks forward to working closely with the Government of India and the Indian people. His priorities include advancing shared goals in defence, trade, technology, and critical minerals.

The ultimate aim remains further strengthening the partnership between these two great democracies through sustained engagement and collaboration across multiple sectors.
