Historic Visit to Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram

In addition to the academic ceremony, Vice-President Radhakrishnan will also visit the historic Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram situated in West Champaran. This ashram holds profound historical significance due to its association with Mahatma Gandhi and the Champaran Satyagraha movement.

Ahead of the Vice-President's visit, senior administrative and police officials conducted a thorough inspection of the site on Friday. The team included the West Champaran district magistrate, the superintendent of police, and the deputy inspector general of the Champaran range. They issued essential instructions to local officials to guarantee proper arrangements and seamless execution of the visit.

Administrative and Security Measures

According to official statements, the main objectives of the Bhitiharwa visit are to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's legacy in the Champaran Satyagraha and to review the ongoing activities and museum at the ashram. West Champaran District Magistrate Taranjot Singh provided detailed insights into the preparations.

"All administrative preparations have been completed for the Vice President's visit," Singh stated. "The ashram premises have undergone extensive cleaning and painting. Three helipads have been constructed in proximity to the ashram to facilitate transportation. Furthermore, the playground and the road leading to the ashram have been renovated to ensure hassle-free movement during the visit."

Security has been significantly enhanced in and around the premises with a heavy deployment of police personnel. As a precautionary measure, entry for the general public has been restricted. The administration emphasized that they are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the high-profile visit proceeds smoothly and without incident.

This visit underscores the continued importance of educational institutions and historical sites in Bihar, highlighting both academic achievements and cultural heritage preservation.
