Agra Election Officials Receive Training for Draft Roll Process
A district-level training program took place in Agra on Monday. Election officials gathered to learn about the process for issuing notices and handling claims and objections. This training followed the publication of draft electoral rolls for assembly constituencies.
Key Officials Lead the Session
District Magistrate Aravind Mallappa Bangari chaired the important program. All electoral registration officers from the district attended the session. Assistant electoral registration officers and supervisors also participated in the training.
Bangari explained the current status of the electoral roll revision. He stated that draft publication under the Special Intensive Revision for 2026 finished on January 6. This completion covered all assembly constituencies within Agra district.
Public Display and Verification Process
The Special Intensive Revision rolls now appear at multiple locations for public viewing. Citizens can examine them at polling stations throughout Agra. The rolls also display at electoral registration officers' offices and the district election office.
Booth Level Officers performed a crucial task on January 11. They read aloud the draft electoral rolls at their respective booths. Village residents and ward committee members listened to this public reading. Following this, BLOs began accepting specific forms from citizens.
Forms and Submission Details
Officials now accept Forms 6, 6A, 7, and 8 from eligible residents. These forms allow for inclusion of new voters in the electoral rolls. They also permit deletion of existing entries and correction of current information.
Bangari emphasized the importance of timely processing. He stressed that claims and objections require prompt receipt and disposal. This time-bound approach ensures the electoral roll remains error-free and properly updated.
Training Focus and Verification Procedures
The training program covered essential verification procedures for officials. They received instructions on checking multiple aspects of submitted claims. Officials learned to verify names carefully against existing records.
They also practiced confirming mobile numbers provided by applicants. Address verification formed another crucial part of their training. Document examination for supporting claims and objections received detailed attention during the session.
Eligibility and Submission Timeline
The District Magistrate clarified eligibility requirements for potential voters. Citizens who complete eighteen years of age by January 1, 2026 qualify for inclusion. Existing voters seeking corrections also fall within the eligible category.
These individuals can submit their forms during a specific window. The submission period runs from January 6 to February 6, 2026. Applicants may approach Booth Level Officers or designated officers at polling centers.
Bangari announced the final timeline for the electoral roll process. The conclusive draft of the Special Intensive Revision will release on March 6. This marks the completion of the current revision cycle for Agra district.
