Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday escalated the BJP's electoral campaign in West Bengal, accusing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of orchestrating a conspiracy to remove the names of Matua and Namasudra voters from the electoral rolls.

Shah's rally in Ranaghat South

Addressing a rally in Ranaghat South, a constituency with a significant Matua population, Shah said, 'Mamatadidi got names of some Matuas and Namasudras deleted from the electoral roll. She conspired against them. Each of their names will be restored after May 5.'

National security pitch in Tehatta

During a rally in Nadia's Tehatta, Shah shifted focus to national security, invoking the sacrifice of Para SF commando Jhantu Ali Sheikh, who was killed in a counterterror operation in Jammu and Kashmir. 'On April 22, 2025, Jhantu Ali Sheikh laid down his life for the nation. After that, Modiji carried out Operation Sindoor,' Shah said.
