The key contenders include Burhanul Mokkadin (Liton) of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Sukriti Kumar Sarkar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Quazi Abdur Rahim of the Indian National Congress (INC). Other candidates are Gopal Das (Bahujan Samaj Party), Ibrahim Molla (Aam Janata Unnayan Party), Md. Baduria is a General constituency with 243,747 registered voters. In the 2021 Assembly Election, Abdur Rahim Quazi, then representing the TMC, secured a decisive victory with a margin of 56,444 votes. The runner-up was Sukalyan Baidya of the BJP. Quazi also won the seat in 2016, marking consecutive victories for the party. This year, Quazi is contesting on a Congress ticket, while the TMC has fielded Burhanul Mokkadin.
