Bihar NDA MPs to Thank PM Modi for Historic Election Win on Monday
Bihar NDA MPs to meet PM Modi, thank for poll victory

In a significant political gesture, all thirty parliamentarians from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) representing Bihar are scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday. The purpose of the meeting is to personally convey their gratitude for the Prime Minister's extensive and impactful campaign efforts, which were instrumental in securing a historic victory for the coalition in the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections.

A Meeting of Gratitude and Guidance

The delegation, comprising MPs from alliance partners including the BJP and JD(U), will call on the Prime Minister at 10:30 AM. JD(U) MP from Jhanjharpur, Ramprit Mandal, confirmed the development on Saturday evening. He stated that the MPs wish to thank PM Modi for his relentless work, which ensured a "magnificent victory" for the NDA, surpassing their own seat expectations. The lawmakers also intend to seek the Prime Minister's blessings and guidance for the way forward.

The Campaign That Made the Difference

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left an indelible mark on the Bihar electoral battlefield. During the two-phase elections held last month, he addressed a total of 14 high-energy election rallies across various regions of the state and also held several roadshows. A notable trend observed was that constituencies which hosted the PM's rallies witnessed a significant surge in voter turnout, which ultimately translated into votes for the NDA.

Mandal highlighted that the partnership between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and PM Modi, often referred to as the "Nitish-Modi pair," resonated powerfully with the electorate. He asserted that the people of Bihar wholeheartedly accepted Nitish Kumar's governance policies combined with Modi's visionary leadership, leading to the coalition's landslide win.

Decoding the Historic Mandate

The electoral outcome was nothing short of spectacular for the NDA. The alliance clinched a massive 202 out of the 243 seats in the Bihar legislative assembly. The seat distribution among the allies is as follows:

  • Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP): 89 seats
  • Janata Dal (United) or JD(U): 85 seats
  • Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) or LJP (RV): 19 seats
  • Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) or HAM (S): 5 seats
  • Rashtriya Lok Morcha: 4 seats

This decisive mandate has firmly re-established the NDA's political dominance in the state. The upcoming meeting between the MPs and the Prime Minister underscores the unity within the alliance and sets the stage for the next phase of governance and development in Bihar.
