Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday blamed opposition parties for stalling the Women's Reservation Bill in Parliament, and said his government would ensure women get their "rightful share in everything and everywhere," setting the tone for Monday's special assembly session.
CM Accuses Congress of Injustice
Yadav stated that five generations of the Congress party had done "gross injustice" to the women of the country. "We shall ensure that women get their rightful share in everything and everywhere," he said while informally talking to media persons after listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat' with people at a restaurant on VIP Road.
Women's Reservation Bill Blocked
He said that the Women's Reservation Bill tabled by the Modi government in Parliament could not be passed due to the non-cooperation of opposition parties, and the people of the country will never forgive them for it. The bill aims to reserve one-third of seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies for women.
Procurement of Rabi Crops
On the procurement of wheat and other Rabi crops by the state government, Yadav said that in addition to wheat, gram and masoor (lentils) were also being purchased at minimum support price (MSP). He emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring fair prices for farmers.
