Kanpur district authorities have announced a special voter list drive. The administration will organize Booth Day on January 18 under the Special Intensive Revision campaign.
Booth Day Details and Timing
On January 18, Booth Level Officers will be present at their respective polling stations. They will assist citizens with voter list-related work from 11am to 4pm. This initiative covers all 3,770 polling stations across Kanpur district.
District Magistrate and District Election Officer Jitendra Pratap Singh made the announcement. He urged the public to visit their local booths during these hours. Citizens can complete various voter registration and correction tasks directly with BLOs.
Available Forms and Submission Methods
The administration has specified several forms for different purposes. Form 6 is for new voter registrations. Form 7 handles name deletions from the electoral roll. Form 8 addresses entry corrections, address changes, or duplicate identity card issues.
Residents can submit these forms through two methods. They can fill and submit them online through official portals. Alternatively, they can submit physical copies offline at designated locations. The deadline for all submissions is February 6.
Eligibility Criteria for New Voters
Eligibility for voter registration follows specific age criteria. All individuals who have completed 18 years of age by January 1, 2026 qualify. This includes those who will turn 18 on that date.
The administration has also outlined additional provisions. Form 6 will be collected from eligible youth who complete 18 years based on quarterly qualifying dates. These dates include April 1, July 1, and October 1 of the relevant year.
Online Application Tracking
Citizens can track their voter list applications through official channels. Lists related to applications submitted at the Electoral Registration Officer's office are viewable online. Specific forms facilitate this tracking process.
Forms 9, 10, 11, 11-A, and 11-B contain relevant application information. These forms are accessible through the official website of the District Election Officer, Kanpur Nagar. The portal provides comprehensive details about application status and electoral roll updates.
This voter list revision drive aims to ensure accurate and updated electoral rolls. The Booth Day initiative seeks to maximize citizen participation through direct assistance at polling stations.
