MP Nears 100% Digital Voter Mapping, Bhopal & Ujjain Slightly Trail
Madhya Pradesh Achieves 99.66% Digital Voter Enumeration

Madhya Pradesh has accelerated its voter enumeration drive, achieving a significant digital milestone after a slow beginning. The state has now digitally mapped 99.66% of its voters under the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) process, which is being conducted across 12 states and Union Territories.

Impressive Numbers in Voter Data Digitisation

As of the latest data on Saturday, enumeration forms for 5,72,10,271 out of 5,74,06,143 voters have been successfully received and digitised. This leaves only about 1.95 lakh voter forms yet to be submitted, a negligible percentage as the enumeration exercise continues until December 11. Sources from the Chief Electoral Officer's office confirmed that a majority of the state's districts, 53 in total, have completed more than 99% of the enumeration work.

Districts Lagging Behind in the Final Stretch

Only two districts, Ujjain and the state capital Bhopal, are currently below the 99% mark in digitising their enumeration forms. Bhopal, which was previously trailing, managed to improve its pace significantly and had completed 98.23% of the digitisation by 6 PM on Saturday. The ongoing efforts aim to bring all districts to full completion before the deadline.

Next Steps and Data Verification Challenges

All voters whose filled forms have been received will see their names appear in the draft electoral rolls scheduled for publication on December 16. However, officials noted a current challenge: between 5% to 10% of the received forms contain data that cannot be matched with the previous 2003 SIR records. This discrepancy is expected to decrease as Booth Level Officers (BLOs) now have time to re-check and rectify data before the final deadline.

Voters whose data remains unmatched by the time the draft rolls are published will be served notices by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO). To retain their names on the voter list, these individuals must provide any one of the 11 documents prescribed by the Election Commission of India. The final push is now on to ensure a comprehensive and accurate voter list for the state.
