Mandya DC Directs Intensive House-to-House Voter List Verification Drive

In a decisive move to ensure electoral integrity, Mandya District Commissioner Kumara has issued strict directives for officials to conduct a comprehensive house-to-house mapping exercise. This initiative aims to rectify discrepancies in the voter list, as part of the Election Commission of India's special intensive revision program.

Systematic Approach to Voter Roll Accuracy

At a high-level meeting convened at the DC office, Kumara emphasized that the exercise is critical for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of voter rolls. He mandated that booth-level officers must physically visit every household across the district to verify voter details and complete the mapping process thoroughly.

Kumara stressed the necessity of street-wise and house-wise verification to identify and correct errors such as duplications, incorrect addresses, and other technical lapses that could compromise the voting process. This systematic approach is designed to ensure the final list accurately reflects all eligible voters, thereby enhancing the democratic framework.

Progress and Targets in Mandya District

Sharing key district statistics, Kumara revealed that Mandya currently has 15,83,368 registered voters. The mapping exercise has already been completed for 12,92,681 individuals, accounting for 81.6% of the total. However, 2,90,687 voters remain to be covered, and officials have been urged to expedite efforts to close this gap swiftly.

Kumara highlighted that achieving 100% completion is paramount to eliminate any potential issues that could affect future elections. He called for heightened diligence and coordination among all involved departments to meet the Election Commission's standards for voter list integrity.
