YSRCP MP PV Midhun Reddy's Assets Soar 550% in a Decade, Ranks 3rd in ADR Study
MPs' Wealth Skyrockets: YSRCP's Reddy in Top 3 for Asset Growth

A new analysis of the financial declarations of India's parliamentarians has revealed staggering growth in the personal wealth of many re-elected Members of Parliament over the last decade. The report, compiled by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch, scrutinized the self-sworn affidavits of 102 MPs who have been re-elected since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Top Performers in Asset Accumulation

The study highlights that PV Midhun Reddy, the YSRCP MP from Rajampet, secured the third position nationally for the highest increase in declared assets. His financial journey shows a remarkable trajectory: from Rs 22.59 crore in 2014, his assets climbed to Rs 66.51 crore in 2019, and then surged to Rs 146.85 crore in 2024. This represents an absolute increase of approximately Rs 124.25 crore and a staggering growth rate of 550% over the ten-year period.

In stark contrast, the average asset increase for the 102 MPs analysed was Rs 17.36 crore, with an average percentage growth of 110%. This places Midhun Reddy's growth at five times the average rate.

Andhra Pradesh MPs Under the Lens

The report also sheds light on other parliamentarians from Andhra Pradesh. YSRCP's YS Avinash Reddy from Kadapa ranked 15th nationally. His declared assets grew from Rs 7.04 crore in 2014 to Rs 40.43 crore in 2024, marking an increase of about 474% or nearly Rs 33.38 crore.

On the other hand, Union Civil Aviation Minister and TDP's Srikakulam MP, K Rammohan Naidu, showed more modest growth in comparison. His assets rose from Rs 8.41 crore in 2014 to Rs 23.3 crore in 2024, an increase of around 177% or nearly Rs 15 crore, placing him 28th on the list.

National Leaders and Party-Wise Analysis

The top spot in the country was claimed by Udayanraje Pratapsinh Maharaj Bhonsle of the BJP from Satara, whose assets rose by a massive Rs 162.51 crore (from Rs 60.60 crore to Rs 223.12 crore). The second position was held by Poonamben Hematbhai Maadam of the BJP from Jamnagar, with an increase of Rs 130.26 crore.

A party-wise consolidation reveals significant insights. The combined declared assets of the two analysed YSRCP MPs—PV Midhun Reddy and YS Avinash Reddy—show a total increase of about Rs 157.63 crore over the decade, with overall growth of approximately 512%. This performance represents the second-highest increase, both in absolute terms and percentage, among all political parties in India.

For the TDP, the lone re-elected MP K Rammohan Naidu's assets grew by about Rs 14.89 crore, reflecting an overall growth of approximately 177%.

The analysis is based on data from 102 out of 103 re-elected MPs. One MP, Devendra Singh (Bhole Singh) from Akbarpur, Uttar Pradesh, was excluded due to the non-availability of his 2019 affidavit data.
