Indian voters who have not received their Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms from Booth Level Officers (BLOs) now have a straightforward digital alternative. The Election Commission has enabled citizens to complete this mandatory electoral roll documentation entirely online, ensuring no eligible voter is excluded from the revision process.
Online Process for SIR Enumeration Form Submission
To initiate the digital submission, voters need to visit the official Election Commission portal at voters.eci.gov.in. Once on the website, navigate to the Services section and select the clearly marked Fill Enumeration Form option. This portal allows users to complete all necessary documentation for the electoral roll revision from their homes.
The step-by-step online procedure requires voters to enter either their mobile number or EPIC number, followed by selecting their state. The system then displays existing electoral data, which voters must carefully verify before proceeding with the enumeration form submission.
Mandatory Requirements for Online Submission
The Election Commission has made EPIC and mobile number linking compulsory for online SIR form submission. An EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) is the 10-digit unique identification number issued by the Commission that serves as official voter identification.
For voters whose mobile numbers aren't already linked with their EPIC, the process can be completed instantly through Form-8 on the same portal. Users need to select Correction of Entries in Existing Electoral Roll, followed by the Mobile Number option under Form-8. After successful linking, voters must log in again to complete the enumeration form, which includes providing last SIR information.
Alternative Options and Complaint Resolution
For citizens preferring offline methods or facing issues with BLOs, the system provides alternative pathways. Voters can check their BLO and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) details through the portal. In cases where BLOs are not accepting or providing forms, citizens can register official complaints by sending emails to complaints@eci.gov.in.
The final submission of online enumeration forms requires Aadhaar-based e-sign, where the system matches current names as per EPIC and Aadhaar data. The Election Commission emphasizes that all voters must complete and submit enumeration forms either to their BLO or through the online portal as part of the ongoing electoral roll revision process across states.
