Voters in Noida and Ghaziabad who are currently unmapped in electoral records will soon start receiving official notices. The district administrations of Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad are gearing up for this important exercise. Officials have announced that a second round of booth-level camps will also be held across both districts on January 18.
How the Notice Process Works
If you receive a notice, it will be delivered directly to your residence by the concerned Booth Level Officer (BLO). Family members can accept the notice on your behalf. The BLO will then upload an acknowledgement of receipt along with a photograph of the recipient using the official BLO application.
At the time of receiving the notice, if you provide any one of the thirteen documents prescribed by the Election Commission, the BLO will upload that document as well. This step helps streamline the verification process.
Appearing for the Hearing
On the scheduled date mentioned in the notice, you must appear before the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO). You need to bring all required documents as specified in the notice.
Officials have clarified an important point. If you submit your Aadhaar card as a supporting document, you must also provide one additional document from the prescribed list. The verification and categorization of records will then proceed according to Election Commission guidelines.
Booth-Level Camps on January 18
The district administrations will organize the second round of booth-level camps on January 18. These camps will be set up across all polling stations in both Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad districts.
At these camps, residents can physically verify their names and other details in the draft electoral rolls. The first round of such camps took place on January 11. Officials say the January 18 exercise will be conducted in mission mode.
This approach aims to ensure maximum voter coverage and timely correction of any errors in the draft rolls.
Public Reading of Electoral Rolls
Ghaziabad ADM (Revenue) and Deputy District Election Officer Saurabh Bhatt provided details about the January 18 camps. He stated that BLOs will be present at their respective polling stations to conduct a public reading of the draft electoral rolls.
"The exercise will be conducted in a mission mode to ensure maximum coverage and to make sure that no eligible elector is left out of the process," Bhatt emphasized.
According to Bhatt, BLOs will come prepared with adequate quantities of various forms:
- Form-6 for new voter registration
- Form-7 for deletion of names
- Form-8 for correction or transfer of details
- Declaration forms for on-the-spot submission of applications
This preparation means residents can complete necessary paperwork directly at the camps without additional visits to election offices.
