PM Modi Hails NDA's Bihar Mandate, Sets Sights on West Bengal 2026
PM Modi on Bihar Win: End of Jungle Raj, Path for Bengal

Massive Bihar Mandate Hailed as Springboard for National Momentum

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a jubilant crowd at the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in Delhi on Friday, celebrated the National Democratic Alliance's resounding victory in the Bihar Assembly elections. He declared the outcome a rejection of what he termed 'jungle raj' and confidently set the stage for the next major electoral battle in West Bengal, scheduled for 2026.

Symbolism and Swipe at Opposition

In a powerful symbolic gesture, the Prime Minister wore a 'gamchha' adorned with traditional Mithila painting, directly connecting with the cultural heritage of Bihar. He launched a sharp attack on the Congress, labelling it the 'Muslimleegi Maowadi Congress' (MMC), and accused the party of having no positive vision for the nation, describing it as a parasitic liability for its allies.

Drawing a vivid analogy, PM Modi stated, "Just as the sacred river Ganga flows to Bengal through Bihar, this electoral triumph has cleared the path for the BJP's victory in the neighbouring state as well." He emphasized that Bihar, the land that gave India the pride of being the mother of democracy, has now ensured that those attacking democratic values have been decisively defeated.

The New 'M-Y' Formula and a Jab at RJD

In a significant reinterpretation of a long-standing political narrative, the Prime Minister announced that the victory has given birth to a new M-Y formula. He elaborated that this new formula stands for Mahila (Women) and Youth, which has overpowered the old, communal 'M-Y' formula—a clear reference to the Muslim-Yadav support base of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

"Today, Bihar is among the states with a high youth population, and these youths belong to all religions and castes," Modi said. "Their wishes, aspirations, and their dreams have destroyed the communal M-Y formula of the 'jungle raj' people." He praised the youth of Bihar for their strong support in the purification of electoral rolls, underscoring their commitment to a fair democratic process.

A New Era for Bihar and a Boost for Election Commission

PM Modi proclaimed that this win marks the beginning of a new era for Bihar, promising that the state will witness accelerated progress over the next five years. He assured the people of new industries, fresh investments, and abundant job opportunities for the youth, enabling the state to prove its potential to the world.

He also commended the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and congratulated all NDA allies for the collective success. Furthermore, he asserted that this massive mandate has strengthened the people's confidence in the Election Commission of India, a remark that comes amid allegations of electoral malpractices from opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister noted that the energy from this victory has already electrified BJP workers in states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Assam, and West Bengal, signalling the NDA's expanding national ambitions ahead of the crucial state polls.
