Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be visiting Ranip on Sunday to cast his vote in the local body elections due to his busy schedule. Instead, he has exercised his franchise through the postal ballot option, sources confirmed.
Postal Ballot Arrangement for PM
Officials involved in the election process in Ahmedabad district stated that the Prime Minister's Office requested the postal ballot system as the PM was unable to travel to his home state for Sunday's polling. "The arrangement was made by the returning officer in keeping with the protocol, and the postal ballot has also been received. All ballot votes will be opened during counting on April 28," a source said.
Amit Shah to Vote in Naranpura
According to a release from the state BJP, Union Minister and Gandhinagar Lok Sabha MP Amit Shah will cast his vote in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation election at 11 am on Sunday at the Naranpura sub-zonal office. "Shah has appealed to the citizens to cast their votes and contribute to the development of the state and the country," the release added.
CM Bhupendra Patel's Appeal for 100% Voting
On Saturday, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel appealed to all citizens of Gujarat to ensure 100% voting in the local body elections scheduled for April 26. He urged all voters across the state to participate enthusiastically in what he called the festival of democracy. In his message, the CM stated that voting in a democracy is not merely a right but also a sacred duty of every citizen. "Every vote will further accelerate the holistic development of villages, talukas, districts, and cities across the state," he said.
The CM appealed to all voters to reach their polling booths on April 26 to cast their votes and also motivate their family members, friends, and neighbours to do the same. He called upon everyone to take a pledge for "100% voting" and make this democratic festival a success. "Contribute your bit towards building a developed Gujarat from a developed India by casting your vote," the CM urged in a heartfelt appeal.
