Ranchi: Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS will be enforced near the 21 examination centres for NEET-UG in the city on Sunday. The test will be conducted in a single shift, with approximately 10,000 candidates appearing for the medical entrance exam from Ranchi.
Restrictions and Security Measures
Ranchi Sub-Divisional Officer Kumar Rajat stated that the prohibitory orders will be applicable within a 200-metre radius of the exam centres. "Directives have been issued to ensure the exam is conducted free from malpractice. Sufficient numbers of magistrates and security personnel will be deployed to maintain law and order," he said.
The prohibitory orders include a ban on the assembly of five or more persons at one place, except for officials or employees engaged in government work and funerals. Additionally, the use of any sound-amplifying device and possession of arms or weapons are prohibited.
Similar Curbs in Jamshedpur
In Jamshedpur, similar restrictions will be in place. Earlier this week, East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Ranjan reviewed the preparations and directed all concerned departments to ensure proper arrangements for candidates at all centres. A total of eight centres have been set up in the Steel City for 4,231 candidates.
An official confirmed, "The examination will commence at 2 pm at all centres. Candidates will be permitted to enter between 11 am and 1:30 pm, after which no one will be allowed entry."
