Rajasthan Election Commission Finalizes Voter List with 5.15 Crore Electors
The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the completion of the final electoral roll for Rajasthan, concluding the Special Intensive Revision process that covered 199 out of the state's 200 assembly constituencies. The Anta constituency in Baran district remains excluded, with its final roll scheduled for publication on March 12.
Voter Statistics and Demographic Breakdown
The comprehensive final list encompasses 5.15 crore registered voters across the state. This represents a net increase of 10.48 lakh electors, equivalent to a 2.08% growth from the draft publication phase. During the revision period that commenced in October of last year, election officials removed 31.36 lakh names from the electoral rolls, accounting for 5.7% of the previous voter registry.
The gender distribution reveals 2.69 crore male voters, 2.45 crore female voters, and 562 individuals registered under the third gender category. This composition reflects the ongoing efforts to ensure inclusive electoral participation across all demographic segments.
District-Wise Analysis of Voter Modifications
Jodhpur district emerged as the focal point for voter deletions, with more than two lakh names removed from electoral lists. The highest concentration of deletions occurred in the Sardarpura constituency, represented by former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Conversely, Osian constituency within Jodhpur recorded the lowest number of deletions in the district.
Between the draft and final publication stages, election authorities deleted 2.4 lakh names while simultaneously adding 12.9 lakh new registrations. Districts demonstrating the most significant voter increases include:
- Jaipur with 3.45% growth
- Phalodi with 3.22% expansion
- Bharatpur showing 2.78% increase
- Sirohi registering 2.72% rise
- Bundi with 2.71% augmentation
Gender Ratio Improvements and Youth Voter Registration
The Special Intensive Revision process yielded measurable improvements in Rajasthan's electoral gender ratio, which increased by two points from 909 during draft publication to 911 in the final roll. Several districts recorded particularly notable advancements:
- Jaipur improved by 7 points
- Kota enhanced by 6 points
- Ajmer, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Bundi, Jhalawar and Baran each progressed by 4 points
Young voter registration showed encouraging trends, with the 18-19 years age group expanding by 4.35 lakh individuals statewide, representing a 0.82% increase. Jaipur district led this category with a 1.3% rise in young electors, followed by Barmer (1.26%), Bharatpur (1.22%), Phalodi (1.18%), and Bundi (1.09%).
Verification Procedures and Official Statements
Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan emphasized that all registered voters can verify their inclusion in the electoral roll through online platforms. The official websites of both the Chief Electoral Officer, Rajasthan, and the Election Commission of India provide EPIC search functionality for this purpose.
The comprehensive revision process has substantially updated Rajasthan's electoral database, ensuring greater accuracy and inclusivity ahead of upcoming electoral exercises. The exclusion of Anta constituency represents the only pending element in this statewide voter registration overhaul.
