Trichy Voter Roll Correction: Special Camps on Dec 27-28 & Jan 3-4, 2026
Trichy Voter Roll Camps: Fix Your Details Before Jan 1

In a significant move to ensure an accurate and inclusive voter list, the Trichy district administration and election cell have announced a series of special voter facilitation camps. This initiative comes directly in response to public concerns following the recent Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll.

Addressing Voter Deletion Concerns

The Election Commission of India (ECI) had set January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date for the revised rolls, prompting an intensive revision exercise across the district's nine assembly constituencies since November 4. While the goal was to include all eligible voters and purge ineligible names, the process led to numerous complaints after a substantial number of voters found their names deleted. To rectify this and ensure no legitimate voter is left out, District Election Officer and Collector V Saravanan has organized these special camps.

Camp Dates, Venues, and Services

The administration will hold these crucial camps at all polling stations in the district on two weekends: December 27 and 28, 2025, and January 3 and 4, 2026. Each camp will operate from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing ample opportunity for citizens to update their details.

Voters can avail a range of services at these camps, including:

  • New voter registrations
  • Deletion of names (for deceased or relocated individuals)
  • Correction of details like name, age, or photo
  • Change of address within or between constituencies

To process these requests, officials will accept the standard ECI forms. Voters should bring the relevant form along with supporting documents for verification.

Required Forms and Documents

The specific forms needed for different actions are:

  • Form 6: For new voter registration.
  • Form 6A: For enrolment of overseas Indian voters.
  • Form 6B: For linking Aadhaar with the voter ID.
  • Form 7: For objecting to or requesting deletion of a voter's name.
  • Form 8: For correction of details or transposition within a constituency.

Acceptable supporting documents include the Aadhaar card, birth certificate, passport, ration card, or driving licence. Overseas Indian voters are specifically advised to use Form 6A and have their passport and visa details ready for verification.

Online Option and Collector's Appeal

For those who prefer digital channels, applications can also be submitted online through the official ECI portal at voters.eci.gov.in. However, the physical camps are designed to offer direct assistance, especially for those facing difficulties with the online process.

Collector V Saravanan has made a strong appeal for public participation. He urges every voter in Trichy district to utilize this final opportunity during the weekend camps to check and confirm their enrolment status. Ensuring your name is correctly on the roll before the January 1 cutoff is crucial for exercising your democratic right in future elections, he emphasized.

This drive underscores the administration's commitment to creating a robust and error-free electoral roll, which is the foundation of a fair and representative electoral process.
