The Uttar Pradesh government will launch a statewide public outreach campaign from June 5 to June 21 to commemorate the completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the preparations for the campaign during a meeting with cabinet ministers and senior officials on Friday.
Key directives from CM Yogi
CM Yogi directed that the achievements and transformative journey of both the central and state governments be taken to every section of society through extensive public participation. He emphasized that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has achieved new milestones in development, good governance, welfare of the poor, social justice, and global recognition over the past 12 years. He noted that coordinated efforts by the Centre and the state have brought positive changes in the lives of people across all sections of society.
Campaign highlights
The campaign will highlight progress made in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, farmer welfare, women’s safety and dignity, employment generation, infrastructure development, law and order, digital services, and good governance. Yogi instructed ministers to spend adequate time in their assigned districts and actively participate in all campaign-related events. He also asked them to establish direct dialogue with intellectuals, youth, women, farmers, entrepreneurs, traders, and various social groups.
Pragati Path Yatra and other events
As part of the campaign, a nearly 10-kilometre-long ‘Pragati Path Yatra’ will be organized in every Assembly constituency between June 5 and June 21. Public representatives will stay overnight in villages, hold chaupals (village meetings), and interact with village heads and local residents. On June 5, which coincides with World Environment Day, the state will organize a large-scale plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. Awareness programmes related to environmental conservation, water preservation, cleanliness, and health will also be held across development blocks and urban local bodies.
Special initiatives
The government will also run a special awareness campaign to make the state free from single-use plastic, with participation from self-help groups, students, youth organizations, entrepreneurs, and the general public. According to the schedule finalized in the meeting, public outreach campaigns, dialogue programmes, and padyatras (foot marches) will be organized between June 8 and June 14. Media interaction programmes will be held on June 11 and 12, followed by district-level interactions by ministers. MPs and MLAs will also hold media briefings on June 13 and 14 to highlight the achievements of the “double-engine” government.
Jan Kalyan Melas and Yoga Day
Yogi further directed that Jan Kalyan Melas (public welfare fairs) be organized in all development blocks and urban local bodies from June 14 to June 16. On June 21, International Yoga Day, yoga programmes will be organized across all 825 development blocks and more than 700 urban local bodies in the state. The campaign aims to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every citizen and to strengthen the connection between the government and the people.
