However, to access this new online facility, the Commission has made one step compulsory for all voters. The linking of your EPIC number with your mobile number is now mandatory for the online submission of SIR enumeration forms. An EPIC, or Electors Photo Identity Card, is the 10-digit unique identification number issued by the ECI to every voter. According to the official directive, all voters are required to fill out and submit the enumeration form, either online or by handing it to their Booth Level Officer (BLO).
Step-by-Step Guide to Link Your Mobile Number with EPIC
For voters who have not yet linked their mobile number to their voter ID, here is a simple process to complete this essential step:
- Visit the official Election Commission of India portal: https://voters.eci.gov.in/
- Click on the "Sign Up" option.
- Enter your mobile number, email ID, and the captcha code displayed on the screen.
- Enter the One-Time Password (OTP) you receive on your mobile.
- When prompted, provide your 10-digit EPIC number.
All subsequent updates and confirmations regarding your linking request will be sent to the email address you provided during the registration.
How to Submit the SIR 2026 Enumeration Form Online
Once your EPIC is successfully linked to your mobile number, you can proceed to submit the SIR form online. Follow this guide carefully:
- Go to the official website: voters.eci.gov.in.
- Click on the option "Fill Enumeration Form".
- Enter your mobile number or EPIC number to log in.
- Select West Bengal as your state and enter your EPIC number again if required.
- Your existing electoral data will be displayed. Review this information carefully.
- A critical pre-requisite: Your EPIC must be linked to your mobile number. If it wasn't linked before, you can do it instantly by submitting Form-8. To do this, select "Correction of Entries in Existing Electoral Roll", then choose "Mobile Number" option ONLY under Form-8.
- After your EPIC is linked, log in again to the portal.
- Fill out the Enumeration form completely, including the details from the last SIR.
- Submit the form using Aadhaar-based e-sign.
It is important to note that for the e-sign and successful submission of the Enumeration forms, the name as per your EPIC records must match the name in your Aadhaar data. This measure ensures the integrity and security of the electoral revision process.
