West Bengal SIR 2025: Check BLO Form Status Online Before Dec 9
West Bengal SIR: Verify BLO Form Status Online

The Election Commission of India has initiated the crucial second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across twelve states and Union Territories, with West Bengal being a key focus area. This comprehensive revision process aims to update and verify voter information, ensuring the accuracy of electoral data ahead of important upcoming elections.

Important Dates for West Bengal SIR Phase 2

The Election Commission has established a clear timeline for the Special Intensive Revision process. The house-to-house enumeration phase is currently underway, running from November 4 to December 4, 2025. The draft electoral rolls will be officially published on December 9, 2025, marking a critical checkpoint for all voters.

Following the draft publication, citizens will have the opportunity to file claims or objections between December 9, 2025, and January 8, 2026. The hearing and verification process for these submissions will continue until January 31, 2026, with the final electoral rolls scheduled for publication on February 7, 2026.

How to Check Your Enumeration Form Status

Verifying whether your Booth Level Officer (BLO) has successfully uploaded your enumeration form is a straightforward process. Voters who have submitted their forms either physically to their BLO or through the online portal can follow these simple steps to confirm their status:

Begin by visiting the official Election Commission website at voters.eci.gov.in. On the homepage, locate and click the 'Fill Enumeration Form' option, which will redirect you to the login or registration page.

New users need to complete the sign-up process by providing their mobile number, optional email address, and solving the captcha verification. Existing users can simply log in using their registered mobile number and the OTP sent to their device.

Once logged in, navigate back to the 'Fill Enumeration Form' section and enter your EPIC (Electoral Photo Identity Card) number in the designated field. Click the 'Search' button to instantly view the status of your form submission.

Understanding Your Form Status

The system provides clear indicators about your enumeration form status. If your form has been successfully uploaded, you will see a confirmation message stating: "Your form has already been submitted with mobile number XXXXX..." This indicates that your BLO has properly processed your submission.

If no such message appears and instead a new form page opens, this suggests that your submission has not been recorded in the system. In cases where the displayed mobile number appears incorrect, or if the status shows 'submitted' despite you not having completed the process, immediate contact with your local Booth Level Officer is strongly recommended.

Required Documents for SIR Submission

The Election Commission accepts various documents for the Special Intensive Revision process. Valid identification includes any government-issued identity card, pension payment documents for pensioners, certificates issued by the Government of India, birth certificates, passports, and matriculation or educational certificates.

Additional acceptable documents include permanent residence certificates, Forest Rights certificates, OBC/SC/ST caste certificates, National Register of Citizens (where applicable), land or house allotment certificates issued by the government, and family registers prepared by local authorities. While Aadhaar card can be submitted, it's important to note that it does not serve as proof of citizenship.

Comprehensive SIR Process Overview

The Special Intensive Revision follows a detailed ten-step procedure beginning with the pre-enumeration phase that includes training for BLOs, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), and District Election Officers (DEOs). BLOs are responsible for manual matching of enumeration forms with the last SIR records from 2002, which is then verified through computer matching via ECINET.

Political parties play a significant role in the process, with CEOs, DEOs, and EROs providing detailed explanations of the SIR procedure to party representatives. Booth level agents receive specialized training to oversee the revision process on behalf of political parties, ensuring transparency and accountability.

During the enumeration phase, BLOs manage the printing, distribution, matching, and linking of enumeration forms. The draft electoral rolls will include all electors whose enumeration forms have been successfully received and processed. Voters who have moved, are absent, or deceased and were included in the previous 2002 list but not in the current draft can be added directly through the Commission's official website.

The Commission will deploy volunteers to ensure that electors experience no harassment during the process, and polling stations will be rationalized to ensure none serves more than 1200 voters. This meticulous approach aims to create the most accurate and comprehensive electoral roll possible for West Bengal and the other participating states.
