Massive turnout for 'Fit India Sundays on Cycle' in Delhi
Over 9,000 health enthusiasts participated in the 'Fit India Sundays on Cycle' event in the national capital on Sunday. The event was organized in collaboration with the Sathya Sai Seva Organisations to commemorate the birth centenary of spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba.
The initiative, part of the Fit India Movement, aims to promote cycling as a healthy and sustainable mode of transport. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya joined the participants, highlighting the government's commitment to fitness and well-being.
Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge taken
During the event, participants also took a public pledge under the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, which seeks to create awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. The pledge encourages citizens to lead a drug-free lifestyle and support others in doing the same.
According to organizers, the collaboration with Sathya Sai Seva Organisations added a spiritual dimension to the fitness drive, aligning with Sai Baba's teachings of service and health.
Fit India Movement gains momentum
The 'Fit India Sundays on Cycle' campaign has been steadily gaining traction across the country. The Delhi edition saw participation from diverse groups, including school children, working professionals, and senior citizens. Many participants expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating that it motivates them to stay active.
