Ahmedabad RPO allows walk-in visits on Wednesdays from June 15

The Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Ahmedabad will implement revised arrangements starting June 15 to assist applicants with enquiries or document submission for pending passport cases. Under the new system, the RPO will permit walk-in visits without prior appointments exclusively on Wednesdays, excluding holidays.

Walk-in Window Details

Abhijit Shukla, Regional Passport Officer, Ahmedabad, stated that walk-in applicants can visit between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Wednesdays to make enquiries or submit documents related to pending applications. This initiative aims to streamline the processing of requests while encouraging greater use of the online appointment system, which officials confirm has sufficient availability.

Online Appointments Continue

Under the updated system, 100 online appointments will continue to be issued on all working days for enquiries and document submission. Applicants can pre-book a visit for a preferred date and time through the online appointment facility. The RPO emphasized that the dedicated Wednesday window is exclusively for applicants without prior appointments.

  • Applicants must carry original supporting documents for any enquiry or submission.
  • The Wednesday window is not available on holidays.
  • Online appointments remain the primary method for other days.

The RPO office advised visitors to ensure they have all necessary documents before visiting to avoid delays. This change is expected to reduce congestion and improve service efficiency for passport applicants in the region.
