Additionally, 24 positions are reserved for Divyangjan candidates in accordance with applicable rules, making a total of 172 posts.
Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Fireman Post
Only male candidates are eligible for this recruitment. The minimum height requirement is 165 cm, and the minimum weight is 50 kg. Chest measurement must be 76 cm normal and 81 cm expanded, with at least 5 cm expansion. Vision must be 6/6 without spectacles, with no colour blindness or squint. Candidates should be free from flat feet, knock knees, pigeon chest, or other physical deformities.
Educational Qualification and Weightage System
The minimum educational qualification is SSC pass. Merit calculation is based on multiple weightage components. SSC marks are converted to a maximum of 100. HSC adds 25 marks. An engineering diploma or degree provides 40 to 50 marks, depending on branch preference in mechanical, automobile, or electrical streams. Fire-related courses such as ITI Fireman, Fire Technology diploma, or Fire Engineering degree carry 25 to 100 marks. NCC certificates carry 10 marks for 'A', 15 for 'B', and 25 for 'C'. Basic computer knowledge, such as a CCC certificate, provides 10 marks.
Selection Process and Application Procedure
The selection process includes a physical efficiency test covering long jump, high jump, running, and swimming events, with performance-based scoring. The final merit list is prepared by combining PET scores with educational weightage. Shortlisted candidates undergo a medical examination for vision and physical standards.
