Andhra DGP Sanctions Rs 48 Lakh for Traffic Police Heat Relief

In a significant relief for traffic police personnel working under extreme summer conditions, Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta has approved the allocation of Rs 48 lakh to provide protective equipment and health support measures for staff across the state.

Protective Equipment and Health Support

Under the initiative, essential protective materials including UV protection goggles, white caps, ORS packets, water bottles and face masks will be distributed to traffic police staff to help reduce heat-related stress, dehydration and exposure to dust and pollution.

Beneficiaries of the Scheme

Officials said nearly 3,192 traffic personnel, including constables, head constables and sub-inspectors serving at traffic junctions, highways, bus stations and other busy locations across the state, will benefit from the scheme.

The DGP also instructed all police commissionerates and SPs to ensure the immediate release of funds and expedite procurement and distribution of the equipment.
