In a significant assessment of administrative performance, Bareilly district has emerged as the top performer in Uttar Pradesh for the month of December, according to the latest rankings released by the Chief Minister's Dashboard. The dashboard evaluates districts across the state on critical parameters including the implementation of government schemes, basic development works, and execution of key projects.
Top Performers in the December Rankings
The December rankings revealed a tight race at the top. Bareilly district clinched the first position with an impressive overall score. It was closely followed by Lakhimpur Kheri and Shahjahanpur, which were tied for the second spot. The districts of Sonbhadra and Shravasti secured the third and fourth positions, respectively, showcasing a competitive landscape of development across the state.
Administrative Focus Drives Bareilly's Success
Bareilly's District Magistrate, Avinash Singh, attributed this achievement to a concentrated and systematic administrative approach. He stated that the district administration has been prioritizing basic infrastructure, public welfare schemes, and government projects. "Regular meetings and rigorous monitoring with district officials ensure these schemes are effectively executed on the ground," Singh explained.
This focused strategy translated into a stellar performance score. Bareilly scored 9.27 out of a possible 10 points in the combined development and revenue categories. The district excelled particularly in basic development, public welfare schemes, and project implementation, while its revenue department secured a strong second place in its segment.
Sustained Excellence in Lakhimpur Kheri
Lakhimpur Kheri, sharing the second rank, also demonstrated exemplary governance. District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal emphasized that government schemes in the district are being completed according to prescribed quality standards and in a time-bound manner. This commitment to quality and timeliness helped Lakhimpur Kheri achieve a score of 9.26 out of 10 in the development and revenue assessment.
Furthermore, Lakhimpur Kheri showcased remarkable consistency in another key area. For the fourth consecutive month, it ranked first in the Lucknow division under the IGR&S (Integrated Grievance Redressal System) rankings. This success is credited to the timely and satisfactory resolution of public complaints on the IGR&S portal, effective conduct of public hearings, and strict monitoring of online feedback.
What the Rankings Signify
The CM Dashboard rankings serve as a crucial transparency and accountability tool for the Uttar Pradesh government. By publicly grading districts on tangible outcomes, it fosters a spirit of healthy competition among district administrations. The high scores of top-performing districts like Bareilly and Lakhimpur Kheri indicate a successful model of governance that hinges on:
- Prioritizing core infrastructure and welfare schemes.
- Ensuring strict, regular monitoring of project execution.
- Maintaining a citizen-centric approach through effective grievance redressal.
The results highlight that a combination of proactive planning, quality-conscious implementation, and responsive public service delivery is key to achieving top marks in the state's development race.
