In a directive issued to departmental heads and district magistrates, Chief Secretary Manoj Agarwal stated that Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had emphasized the need for efficient resource utilization, lower fuel consumption, wider use of public transport and digital platforms, and the promotion of domestically manufactured products.

Key Measures Announced

All departments, directorates, state public sector undertakings, boards, and government-funded societies have been instructed to maximize the use of video conferencing for official work. They have also been asked to explore work-from-home arrangements wherever feasible.

The order calls for a reduction in non-essential travel, encouraging carpooling and electric mobility. Departments are also directed to adopt energy conservation measures and promote paperless functioning.

Emphasis on Swadeshi Initiatives

Additionally, the state government has emphasized the promotion of 'Swadeshi' initiatives, encouraging the use of domestically manufactured products to support local industries and reduce dependence on imports.

These measures are part of a broader effort to streamline government operations and ensure fiscal discipline in the state.
