Bhubaneswar has achieved the seventh position in citizen feedback submission through QR scanning for the Swachh Survekshan (cleanliness survey) 2026, even as it failed to secure a place in the top 10 in terms of feedback obtained through the Swachhata app, according to data compiled so far.
Feedback Collection Timeline
The cut-off for citizen feedback collection and submission is the end of May. The citizen feedback data is made public in four stages, although its final result will be announced along with the Swachh survey results after May, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials.
Top Performers in Feedback Categories
In Swachhata app-based citizen feedback, Indore has taken the top spot, with Patna securing the second rank. In QR scan-based feedback submission, Visakhapatnam has ranked first, followed by Ahmedabad.
How Feedback is Collected
Under the feedback exercise, Swachhata supervisors, sanitary inspectors, ward officers, and other sanitation staff visit households across the city carrying QR codes. Residents are asked to scan the code, which generates a link leading to a feedback page containing 13 questions on different aspects of sanitation and cleanliness.
Breakdown of 13 Questions
- First four questions: Relate to door-to-door waste collection.
- Next four questions: Focus on visible cleanliness in localities.
- Two questions: Deal with maintenance of public toilets.
- Remaining three questions: Linked to grievance redressal mechanisms.
BMC's Target for Citizen Participation
The civic body is aiming for a sharp rise in citizen participation this year. In the previous edition of the survey, the BMC generated 1.38 lakh feedback responses. This year, it has set a target of five lakh responses.
