Bihar Government Launches Month-Long Inspection Drive for Private Schools
Bihar Inspection Drive for Private Schools Begins July 1

The Bihar government has decided to examine private schools across the state by launching a month-long inspection drive from July 1 to 31. During the campaign, all recognised private schools will be examined to assess whether they are complying with government regulations and prescribed educational standards.

Recognition Renewal Conditions

According to education secretary Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, private schools are granted provisional recognition for three years under specific conditions. Renewal of recognition is approved only after schools are found compliant with prescribed norms and infrastructure requirements. He said schools must also follow all government directives issued from time to time to ensure smooth functioning and quality education.

Focus on RTE Act Compliance

The state government has particularly decided to review compliance with the Right to Education (RTE) Act and the Bihar State Rules on Free and Compulsory Education for Children. At present, Bihar has 19,186 recognised private schools, while another 1,012 schools are in the process of obtaining recognition.

Objective of the Drive
