Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Saturday stated that the district administration is vigilantly monitoring social media platforms to prevent the spread of rumors that could incite panic-buying of petrol and diesel across the district. He emphasized that the administration has taken note of certain social media reports suggesting queues and a crisis at petrol pumps, and has directed authorities to keep a close watch on these platforms for necessary action.
Meeting with Oil Companies
During a meeting with representatives from various oil companies, Jha was informed that sufficient stock is available for all 132 petrol pumps operating in the district. The officials assured that there is no shortage of fuel and that the supply chain remains robust. The district administration urged citizens not to fall prey to unverified information and to avoid unnecessary hoarding of fuel.
Measures to Curb Panic
The administration has also instructed the police and local authorities to take strict action against those spreading false information. Jha appealed to the public to report any suspicious messages or posts to the authorities. He reiterated that the district has adequate fuel reserves and that there is no cause for alarm.
This proactive step aims to maintain normalcy and prevent any disruption in fuel supply due to panic-driven demand. The administration continues to coordinate with oil companies to ensure seamless availability of petrol and diesel to all consumers.
