Buxar Residents Grapple with LPG Cylinder Shortage Amid Supply Disruption

Consumers across Buxar district are encountering significant hardships due to a severe shortage of LPG cylinders at local gas agencies. Officials from multiple agencies have attributed this crisis to a disruption in supply chains, which has left many residents who arrived with empty cylinders since morning returning home without obtaining gas. This shortage has exacerbated household difficulties, particularly for families that rely heavily on LPG for their daily cooking needs.

Consumer Frustrations Mount as Ground Reality Contradicts Official Claims

Local consumers have expressed growing frustration, noting that deliveries were regular in the past but the situation has deteriorated sharply in recent days. One consumer highlighted the disparity between government assurances and on-the-ground conditions, stating, "While the government claims there is no shortage of gas, petrol, or diesel in the country, the reality here is starkly different. I have visited the gas agency for two consecutive days only to return empty-handed, as employees insist there is no stock and advise checking back daily."

Another resident shared a similar experience, returning without a cylinder and voicing concerns over rising LPG prices coupled with dwindling availability. He made an earnest appeal to the Prime Minister to intervene and provide relief to affected consumers, emphasizing the urgent need for action to alleviate their struggles.

District Administration Implements Measures to Combat Black-Marketing

In response to the escalating crisis, the district administration has intensified efforts to prevent black-marketing and hoarding of LPG cylinders. Sub-divisional magistrate Avinash Kumar announced that a special monitoring campaign will be conducted from March 13 to March 20. This initiative aims to ensure smooth distribution of cylinders and maintain law and order in the region, addressing both supply chain issues and potential illegal activities.

The administration's proactive steps are crucial as they seek to restore normalcy and provide much-needed relief to the residents of Buxar, who continue to face daily challenges due to this ongoing shortage.
