Cabinet Approves ₹26,800 Crore for Development

The Indian Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, has approved a total of ₹26,800 crore for various development projects across the state. The decisions were announced following a cabinet meeting on April 28, 2026.

Key Allocations

The largest share, amounting to ₹26,311 crore, has been allocated for public works. This includes infrastructure development such as roads, bridges, and other essential facilities. Additionally, ₹490 crore has been sanctioned for medical education, which will support the expansion of postgraduate programs and super-specialty departments in medical colleges.

Irrigation and Agriculture

Under the irrigation sector, the cabinet approved ₹155.82 crore for the Lakhundar High-Pressure Micro Irrigation Project. This initiative aims to improve water efficiency and boost agricultural productivity in the region.

Education and Welfare

In a move to support students from backward classes, the scholarship under the OBC Hostel Scheme has been increased to ₹10,000. This will benefit 100 students annually. Furthermore, the cabinet approved ₹80.41 crore for the electrification of 38,901 Anganwadi buildings, ensuring better facilities for early childhood care and education.

Medical Education Expansion

Two major medical education projects received revised approvals. The PG expansion at Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal was approved with a revised budget of ₹79.16 crore. Similarly, the Super Speciality expansion at Shyam Shah Medical College in Rewa received a revised approval of ₹174.80 crore.

These decisions reflect the government's commitment to improving public infrastructure, healthcare, and education. The cabinet meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, who emphasized the importance of these projects for the state's development.
